Korea Cultural House(KOUS) was newly built in order to introduce
overseas visitors and foreigners in Korea to Korean traditional
culture, and systematically
meet Korean's high interest in and desire to learn about Korean
culture, and is a small building of 600 pyeong that has one floor
underground and four above
ground. The construction of the building began in 2001, was completed
in March, 2003, and was formally open on April 1. At present, a
regular performance
in which traditional instrumental music, vocal music and dance
showing Korean spirit are staged, and the traditional cultural
experience program for foreigners
and teenagers is operated. KOUS provides a new cultural trend in
the traditional culture of the 21st century, such that KOUS may
serve as a traditional cultural
education experience space in which Korean can actively participate
in their daily life, and the Korean traditional culture can be
correctly understood by foreigners to contribute to the cultural
image of the country. |
